How can we understand words?
In our laboratory, we explore communication primarily from the perspective of cognitive linguistics. We examine questions such as what cues speakers use to convey their intentions to listeners, what enables listeners to understand these intentions, and when misunderstandings arise. Our focus extends beyond just the content of the words to include preceding context, intonation, visual information, and other factors.
